Is Opening Important ?

Pict: Pixabay.com

Hmmm, I think opening is very important, the first move is the beginning to win a game. You can try to use another opening than usually you used, the flow of the game will totally different and maybe its will be a confusing game. So, I think we need more than one opening, not only for make a

variative play, but also to understand the opponent strategy. When our opponent use the opening that we know, I think our respond should be better. Knowing about opening as much as possible is good, but we need consistency. So, I think as an amateur we need at least two opening that we mastered more than the other opening. It will make our game more variative.

Using the same opening every game can make we bore, moreover if we get lost a lot. Try another opening can refreshing our game and refreshing our mind too. After that we can back to our main opening. Opening is important, but the move after the opening is more important. The same opening will not make the same respond from the opponent, so don’t forget about the strategy, the opening is the start, it build the way to win, but the tactic must strong, till the endgame finish it.

So, Is Opening Important for you?

The Reason for Playing Chess Game

Pict: Pixabay.com

Why are you playing chess?

My age was about 10 years old, when I played my  fisrt chess game with my brother. He won with just four moves, that was impresing me, and I think that moment make me interested to play chess. Since that game, I played often with my brother, just my brother. Playing chess is not a populer sport or hobby in my neighborhood, so I can't play it frequently. Maybe that’s why my game is not improve to much cause my biggest opponet just my brother. Even when I played on an amateur tournament on my neighborhood, I played with an adult cause there was no kid can play chess game, and of course I loose on my first game, no doubt. That tournament is my first and last tournament till now.

Well, I still playing chess until now, especially on internet,  thanks to chess.com. I started playing chess frequently when I found chess.com. Finally I can play with more opponent frequently. And It is interisting when we have own rating here, of course i want to reach as hiegsht as I can of my rating. And know that the pro also playing in this site, it is more interisting, We can learn from their live game here, and we can measure where we are compared with the pro.

Playing chess is fun for me, the game just simple but not that simple to win a game. The game can be very complicated. In chess, we need a strategy since the beginning, so the opening is very important here. I feel pleased when I win a game and  dispointed of my lost game, but  sometimes  I can  be amazed by my opponent strategy. And it is fun when I found “Wow” in my game.

I love playing chess even im  not a biggest fan of chess. But playing chess for fun is enough to continue playing I think.
So, why you playing chesss??

Happy playing chess..

Know The Rules of Chess (Basic)

Rules of Chess

First, we have to know what we need for playing chess.
1.Chessboard

The Chessboard has 64 squares, 8 squares horizontally x 8 squares vertically. The Squares has two colors on the board, usually it is black and white. The picture above show how to set up the pieces of chess on Chessboard.

2. Chess Pieces
 a. Pawn
The Pawn can move only one step forward except for the first move, the pawn can move two step forward, but after that it just can move  one step forward. Pawn can capture only diagonally forward and of course with one step.

b. Rook
Rook can move forward and backward horizontally or vertically without limited move. Rook can move as far as it can on the board as long as no other piece blocking.

c.Knight
Knight can move two step vertically or horizontally  then one step to the right or left, so the knight move is just like shape of an “L” and Knight can move over other pieces.

 d.Bishop
Bishop can move forward or backward Diagonally without limited move. Bishop can move as far as it can on the board as long as no other piece blocking.

e. Queen
Queen can move forward or backward horizontally, vertically, or diagonally without limited move.  Queen can move as far as it can on the board as long as no other piece blocking.

f. King
The most important piece of Chess, the King. If you lose the King  you lost the game. The King can  move forward or backward horizontally, vertically, or diagonally with just one step of move. King can capture horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.

After  know the pieces we know can move to the rules,

1. How To Win?

In Chess game there are three conditions in the end of the game, Win, loose, and Draw. The winner is the player who can capture the King, it’s doesn’t matter if you have less pieces on the board as long as you can capture the king.  The Draw condition happened if:

·         The position reaches a stalemate where it is one player's turn to move, but his king is NOT in check and yet he does not have another legal move
·         The players may simply agree to a draw and stop playing
·         There are not enough pieces on the board to force a checkmate (example: a king and a bishop vs.a king)
·         A player declares a draw if the same exact position is repeated three times (though not necessarily three times in a row)
·         Fifty consecutive moves have been played where neither player has moved a pawn or captured a piece
(https://www.chess.com/learn-how-to-play-chess)

2. Start of The Game

The player  on white will always move first on chess

3. Special Move
  •    We can promote the pawn become another piece (Queen, Rook, Bishop, or Knight). The promote could happen if the pawn can reach the opponent first row of the board.
  •       King can move two step (castling), but the king need help from rook. First here the condition that must met:

o    it must be that king's very first move
o    it must be that rook's very first move
o    there cannot be any pieces between the king and rook to move
o    the king may not be in check or pass through check

So, if the condition match, the king can move two step to the right with the rook will be on the left next to the king, or the king can move two step to the left with the rook will be on the right next to the king
  •          “enpasant move”, If a pawn moves out two squares on its first move, and by doing so lands to the side of an opponent's pawn (effectively jumping past the other pawn's ability to capture it), that other pawn has the option of capturing the first pawn as it passes by. This special move must be done immediately after the first pawn has moved past, otherwise the option to capture it is no longer available ((https://www.chess.com/learn-how-to-play-chess).
